About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The International Journal of Integrative Psychotherapy (IJIP) is the official journal of IIPA, the International Integrative Psychotherapy Association. IJIP publishes original peer-reviewed papers concerning theory, practice and research in integrative psychotherapy. IJIP accepts papers presenting new developments in theory and practice, case studies, research articles and papers that review existing work in the area. Specially valued are the articles that integrate therapists' phenomenological experience, clinical thinking, theories and research. IJIP is also open to new ideas in the wider field of psychotherapy, psychology, psychiatry and other sciences that may potentially be useful for the development of integrative psychotherapy.

Peer Review Process

All suitable submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Articles are reviewed by at least two reviewers.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Upon acceptance for publication, authors who are non-certified members of IIPA are required to pay a $950 APC. There is no APC for authors who are Certified Members (CIIC/P or CIIPTS) of IIPA. In addition, for any author (regardless of IIPA membership), IJIP requires authors to cover the cost of copyediting for their article, if it is accepted for publication. Authors may use their own copy editor or make use of IJIP's copy editors (USD $75 per hour). If authors have used their own copy editor, an IJIP copy editor must still provide final approval of the article. All authors are financially responsible for this cost (USD $75 per hour).

Open Access Policy

IJIP is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
